As interior designers we are asked to specify finishes, fixtures, and equipment.
Recently I have been really interested in using products that create texture. Companies like Soelburg Industries provide a variety of textures in several pre-made fabricated systems.
These systems come in a variety of colors, shapes, textures, and materials.
Some are smooth, beveled, or rough. Some only appear that way.
There are even "wood" options that can be combined with a variety of other materials to create a unique design.
With several different pre-made systems there are many options that have a shorter lead time than pure "custom" designs. Of course, They also do solely custom designs as well.

I really like this post because I think that texture is an element that is often overlooked, but is crucial to creating a dynamic and interesting space. Texture can take something bland and make it more visually appealing and it can add that little extra thing to a space that makes it pop. I also like that you touch on pre-fabricated systems as well as custom made systems. Though custom made things are nice to have, often times projects don't have the funds or the lead times to accommodate for that, so it's nice to know that there are feasible pre-existing options in those situations.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great post Laura because it delves into the different aspects one must consider when choosing a particular material. Also, thank you for introducing a new manufacturer into the mix. More often than not, I feel I limit myself to only a few companies and manufacturers solely because they are reliable.
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I need to check out that website. I love the patterns and all the things you can do with- use as space dividers, accent walls, the possibilities are endless.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! You've always done a great job of researching and finding new products. These materials add a ton of visual interest to any space!
ReplyDeleteThese systems give us more options and choices to help us deliver solutions our clients are looking for! I think your post did a great job in showing the range of options we have and examples of how unique they can be.
ReplyDeleteLove this! The fact that it comes as a 'system' makes it easier and quicker to install.
ReplyDeleteThese are all great finishes that I could see myself using in future projects. I really love the wood ones especially. Thanks!
